WHY I SERVE: DOLORES OVERTON
"I am a native of Santa Fe and graduated from Santa Fe High School. Once I had finished my residency and fellowship I realized the need for healthcare providers in New Mexico and it was time to return. I moved back, joined a practice, and realized the importance of our hospital as the backbone of healthcare in Santa Fe. Christus St. Vincent is a safety net for all of northern New Mexico. They accept transfers from hospitals in Taos, Espanola, Las Vegas and Los Alamos for patients who need specialized care. The providers and staff are outstanding and, thanks to the foundation, the facility is now state-of the art as well. I am proud to be a part of the foundation and they are an outstanding group of people who are truly invested in Santa Fe and deeply care in the community. It is an honor to serve. "
