WHY I SERVE: MAGGS GRIFFITH
After moving to Santa Fe in 1992 I almost immediately joined the St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary. I had always been involved in health care and became the Auxiliary Representative on the Foundation Board 14 years ago. Throughout this time the two organizations have worked well together and we have seen the funding and support the Foundation has given to our great local hospital.
I was born in London and became an R.N in the early 1950's, having graduated at the Nursing School at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, a London teaching hospital and medical school. I worked in several different nursing and health care fields including with the R.A.F in post war Germany. After living in several areas, the last being Baltimore where I was a Hospice volunteer, we retired to Santa Fe where we appreciate all the aspects of this beautiful state.
